The answer

It is not permissible for a mother to take from her son's money, which he entrusted her with to distribute to the poor. She must return what she took, as it has become a debt upon her. She is not entitled to take from her son's zakat because her maintenance is obligatory upon him if she is poor. However, if her sons are unable to provide for her, then it is permissible for her to take from their zakat due to their inability to provide maintenance.
