Is zakat obligatory for a relative of mine who owns a house and has eight children, and her sick husband's pension is not enough for them? And is anything due from a woman whose husband wanted to have intercourse with her during the daytime in Ramadan, and she refused, but he insisted and did so, knowing that he has passed away now?

It is permissible for you to give your al-Mal (wealth tax) and Zakat al-Fitr (fast-breaking alms) to your needy female relative if her husband's salary is insufficient for her and her children. She has a greater right to it than others, and giving charity to her is better, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Charity given to a poor person is charity, and charity given to a relative is two-fold: charity and strengthening of kinship ties."
