Is it permissible for the wife to pay zakat al-Fitr from the money she receives from the family provider?

A young man is obligated to pay al-Fitr for himself, his wife, and those whose maintenance is his responsibility, provided he possesses what exceeds his and their needs for the day and night of Eid. If he is unable or refuses, then the wife must pay Zakat for herself if she is able, and it is permissible to pay it on her behalf with her permission.
