The answer

is not obligatory on the monthly salary immediately upon its receipt, based on the statement of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): "Whoever acquires wealth, there is no zakat on it until a year has passed over it." This is the madhab of the four imams. If the saved wealth from it reaches the , either by itself or when combined with other wealth of the same type, then a new year (hawl) begins for it, and zakat is paid after a full year has passed over it, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There is no zakat on wealth until a year has passed over it." If the wealth decreases during the year, the hawl is interrupted, and a new hawl begins if it reaches the nisab again.
