Is the zakat on gold designated for women obligatory once or every year, and is zakat due on the money resulting from selling a portion of it due to its old age?

Scholars differed regarding the zakat (definition) on women's jewelry. The majority held that there is no zakat on it, while others, including the Hanafis, were of the opinion that zakat is obligatory on it every year. There is also an opinion that it is obligatory only once in a lifetime. Paying zakat on used jewelry is more prudent. Zakat is not obligatory when selling it, but the money obtained from its sale is subject to zakat if a year passes over it and it reaches the nisab (definition).
