Divine Decree
- Is it permissible for a Muslim woman to ask a man who is married to a non-Muslim woman to be his only wife, knowing of his desire to marry a Muslim woman like her and his claim that she is not the reason for the divorce?
- Is a girl's refusal of her paternal cousin, who defrauded her and usurped her right to accept her life partner, considered an objection to Allah's divine decree and destiny?
- Will the daughter be sinful for not believing in her mother’s death, despite her faith in Allah’s divine decree and destiny, and will the mother disown her for that?
- If a person's destiny is preordained, and it is decreed for him to kill someone, then how can he prevent that from occurring, and why is he punished for it when he has no power to prevent that?
- Is a divorce effective if the wife says to her husband, "My Lord will take me from you," or "One day He will take me from you by قدر (divine decree)," in a state of extreme anger, after the husband had sworn that she would be unlawful to him if she invoked a curse upon herself again?
- Can the evil eye or envy cause the death and miscarriage of a developing fetus, after ruling out medical causes, or is this belief considered polytheism (shirk) with Allah? And how can one verify that what happened was due to the evil eye or envy, and what are its signs?
- Is silence the correct response toward a husband who utters words that object to Allah's divine decree and destiny, such as his saying, "Why does Allah do this to us specifically, out of all people?" and "Indeed, Allah Almighty mocks us, and He is now laughing at us"?
- Is it permissible to pray behind Ash'aris, even though they deny God's attributes, defame Mu'awiyah, and differ in their belief regarding divine decree, and despite the existence of fatwas that declare one who contradicts God's attributes and has had the proof established against him to be a disbeliever, and that declare one who denies the attribute of exaltedness (al-uluw) after the proof has been established to be a disbeliever, and given that Imam Ahmad and Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah held the view that one should not pray behind someone whose innovation constitutes disbelief?
- - When is it forbidden to say the word "if," and is regretting the past forbidden? What is the ruling on one who said it out of ignorance or forgetfulness? - What is the ruling on using "Insha'Allah" (God willing) to indicate uncertainty or in jest? Is one who said it out of ignorance or forgetfulness sinful? - Is cursing illness an act of disbelief (kufr)? What is the ruling on one who cursed it out of ignorance?
- What is the ruling on saying "Allah Ghalib" (God is Predominant/Triumphant) in the context of protesting the failure to do something or to fulfill a promise?
- How can the concept of destiny written on the Preserved Tablet be reconciled with the possibility of its alteration by supplication, and will what has been decreed for a person, be it good or evil, inevitably occur regardless of their effort or supplication?
- What is the way to get rid of the feeling of boredom and weariness with this fleeting worldly life?
- Does the ruling on sorrow and regret for missing out on something due to personal negligence differ from that concerning calamities that befall a person without their causing them? And is this considered an objection to divine decree?
- How does Islam view divine decree and destiny (Al-Qada' wa Al-Qadar)?
- Is every instance of divine predestination (tasyir) and human choice (takhyir) considered part of destiny (qadar), or is only divine predestination (tasyir) destiny while human choice (takhyir) is accountability (taklif)? And did Allah's knowledge precede the outcomes of both, and were they written in the Preserved Tablet? And how is human will connected to the will of Allah Almighty?
- Is a wife's grief and distress over her husband giving a sum of money to someone considered a sign of dissatisfaction with Allah's divine decree and destiny, and is it considered major disbelief?
- What are the causes that bring and necessitate the good pleasure of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic?
- Is the absolute wish for death mentioned in Fatwa no. 47016 considered disbelief (kufr), and does one who wished for death multiple times in the past become a disbeliever (kafir)?
- What is the ruling on one who says concerning divine decree (Al-Qadar): "Indeed, Allah knew what you would do, so He wrote that down, and you do not do that because Allah wrote it"?
- Are there sorcerer doctors, and what should we do if someone denies the existence of magic and believes it to be an illusion or a trick of the eye?
- What is the ruling on saying words like "shit," "fuck," and "holy shit" to express regret or anger?
- What is the "Aqeedah Tahawiyyah"? And what is its objective?
- Is it permissible to listen to the "Al-Mashari' for Religious Chanting" band, which belongs to "The Association of Islamic Charitable Projects in Lebanon" (Al-Ahbash), at Islamic celebrations, given that their chants are free of musical instruments, and that Al-Ahbash are not considered to be from Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah?
- What is your Eminence's opinion on the "Pervezia" sect, which interprets the Qur'an allegorically, denies the miracles of the prophets and the descent of Jesus (peace be upon him), does not accept the [authority of] Hadith or the signs of the Hour, rejects the doctrine of divine decree and destiny as understood by the Salaf, and allegorically interprets the meaning of establishing prayer? And how can its followers be invited to return to the correct Aqeedah?
