How can a people who commit evil, such as those who engage in perversion, be attributed to Prophet Lut, even though the prophets are the most honorable of people?
"Lūṭī" (لوطي) is a term attributed to the act of the people of Lūṭ, not to the Prophet Lūṭ (peace be upon him). Attribution is made to the second part of a genitive construct (iḍāfah) if the first part is only identified by the second, or if the construct begins with "ibn" (son of) or "ab" (father of), or if it is defined by the second, such as "Lūṭī" instead of "Qawmī" (of the people). This attribution is found in religious texts and denotes the commission of indecency, not Prophet Lūṭ, who condemned the actions of his people. The word "al-Lūṭiyyah" (اللوطية) has been mentioned in prophetic traditions to refer to this act.
