The age at which a girl is commanded to wear the hijab (definition) is seven. It is best to accustom her to it so she gets used to it. Her awrah (parts of the body that must be covered) from the age of seven includes her entire body except for the face, neck, head, hands up to the elbows, and the leg and foot. As for a girl of ten, her ruling is the same as that of an adult woman. She is permitted to wear adornments and be photographed (for those who permit it) until the age of ten, unless signs of femininity appear on her before that. After ten, she must wear the hijab, and it is best to prevent adornments and photography.
