The answer

It is permissible to seek worldly and otherworldly benefits through worship, though the most perfect is to perform acts of worship seeking the countenance of Allah and His pleasure. Whoever worships Allah with sincerity and devotion will attain from Allah's grace and bounties what astounds the minds, and the sweetness of intimacy with Allah suffices him. Drawing near to Allah, fearing Him, and worshipping Him brings every good and repels every evil, as Allah Almighty says: "And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah, We would surely have opened to them blessings from the heaven and the earth. But [instead], they denied, so We seized them for what they were earning." Therefore, whoever worships Allah for His pleasure will be astonished by His bestowals, and whoever worships Him also for worldly benefit, there is no harm in that, even though dedicating worship to the first intention is more preferable and perfect.
