Why did Allah create us to worship Him, despite His being free of need for us? And is the answer that He loves to be worshipped correct? And how is that not considered a benefit from the worshipper to the Worshipped?

Allah is self-sufficient, needing nothing from His creation. The benefit of worship returns to the worshiper himself. The disobedience of the disobedient does not harm Him, nor does the obedience of the obedient benefit Him. He created us to test us and to recompense the doer of good and the doer of evil. Through this, the effects of His names and attributes become manifest, as He Almighty says: "And He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six days—and His Throne was over the water—that He might test you, which of you is best in conduct."
