Is it permissible for a devout Muslim to marry a woman who has two children and is not a virgin, and will his family look down upon her because of this, knowing that she accepts him and feels love towards him, despite her awareness of the prohibition of dating in Islam?

Islamic Sharia (definition) has confined the relationship between a man and a woman to marriage, prohibiting anything outside of it, and has made women respected entities, not cheap commodities. Therefore, relationships outside of legitimate marriage are forbidden. It is permissible for a Muslim man to marry a chaste Christian or Jewish woman who is not an adulteress and who has children from a previous marriage, provided she has a guardian and two Muslim witnesses. The approval of the man's family is a social matter and not a religious condition. It is advised to verify a man's sincerity through marriage, not through dating. The woman is urged to embrace Islam for the good it brings in this life and the hereafter, and to achieve reunion with her husband and children in Paradise.
