It is permissible to offer as sacrifice (udhiyah) all types of livestock (bahimat al-an'am), both male and female, though sacrificing males is better than females. It is permissible to share in the sacrifice of camels or cattle, according to the preponderant opinion, with a maximum of seven individuals per sacrifice. As for sheep, it is not valid to share the price of a single sheep to make it a sacrifice for all; however, it is valid for one person to sacrifice it and include the members of his household in the reward.
