Where should a woman place her hands when performing the opening takbir for prayer: parallel to her ears or at her earlobes?

Scholars have differed regarding the position to which the hands should be raised in prayer. The majority hold that it is abreast of the shoulders, while some say abreast of the earlobes, and others combine both by aligning the lower part of the palms with the shoulders and the upper part with the earlobes. The preponderant view on this issue is that there is no difference between the raising of hands for men and women, as the fundamental principle is that women are the counterparts of men. However, some scholars differentiated between them, deeming it more modest for women.
