Is it permissible for women to visit graves on the first day of Eid?

We have previously explained the ruling on women visiting graves and the conditions for its permissibility. There is no specific time for visiting graves, and doing so on Eid day is not advisable due to the renewal of sorrow on a day of joy. Distributing food in the cemetery on Eid day or reciting the Quran there has no basis in Islamic law; it is an innovation (bid'ah). The Sunnah is for the visitor to limit themselves to greeting and supplicating for the deceased.
