What is the Shar'i (Islamic legal) position on giving to beggars at mosque doors, and does the Imam have the right to silence someone who asks (for charity) after the prayer?

There is no harm in begging at the gates of mosques from the outside if the beggar is truthful. However, inside the mosque, it is prohibited, and the beggar is asked to leave and stand at the door. This is not considered scolding the beggar but rather an instruction to change their location.
