Are the Companions superior to Mary, peace be upon her, and Asiyah, the wife of Pharaoh, and is the belief that Mary is superior to some of the Companions considered a flaw in one's creed?

The superiority of the generation of the Companions is established by textual evidence, and the first century is better than the second, and the second better than the third. It is possible for individuals other than the Companions to be superior to some of them, but the Companion still retains the virtue of companionship. Ibn Abd al-Barr went so far as to permit the possibility of someone who came after the Companions being superior to some of them. Maryam (peace be upon her) attained the rank of Siddiqiyyah (truthfulness), and she is superior to those who did not attain it. However, the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who reached this rank are superior to her, because the Siddiqs of this Ummah are superior to the Siddiqs of other nations. Therefore, there is no harm in believing that Maryam is superior to some of the Companions.
