Obedience to the ruler is obligatory in restricting permissible matters if the benefit is clearly defined or preponderant in them. Disobeying his command does not prohibit earning wages for an act that is permissible in itself. Necessities permit prohibitions, and their estimation varies according to the situation and the individual. Their limit is what makes it highly probable that a person would fall into destruction or unbearable hardship because of them.
