Is my income considered unlawful (haram) if I work as a government auditor in Egypt, and I was transferred to a public sector with nominal authorities and remained in this position for 9 years without any significant real work, knowing that I developed illnesses that grant me open-ended leave, but I agreed with the administration to attend two days a week, and I make sure not to impede any work?

So long as the agreement has been made between the questioner and the authorized administration, there is no harm in it. The questioner is thanked for his eagerness to seek what is lawful and to avoid sin, for that is what will save him on the Day he is questioned about his life and his wealth. The questioner should trust that he is on the right path by avoiding deception, and he should not care about the people of falsehood, even if they are many. Some of the predecessors said: "Do not be disheartened by the truth due to the scarcity of its adherents, and do not be deceived by falsehood due to the multitude of those who perish." The praised strangers are the people of Islam among humanity, the believers among the people of Islam, the people of knowledge among the believers, and the people of Sunnah, those who call to it and are patient with the harm of those who oppose it. These are truly the people of Allah, and they are not strangers, but their strangeness is among the majority who deviate from the path of Allah. Those are the strangers from Allah and His Messenger. When Musa (peace be upon him) was alone, a stranger, and hungry, he asked his Lord, and it was said to him: The one who is alone is he who has no companion like Me, the sick one is he who has no physician like Me, and the stranger is he between whom and Me there is no interaction.
