Can a beautiful sight be a good omen?
Good omens (al-fa'l al-hasan) are a servant's good expectations of his Lord. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, explained it as "a good word one of you hears." This also includes a beautiful sight one sees.
Allah Almighty has spread beautiful and good things throughout the universe to awaken the senses and make a Muslim yearn for the abode of eternity, just as He has spread ugly things to remind the servant of the abode of misery so that he may turn to Allah.
The Qur'an is full of such examples, where it presents what is good to make the believer desire it and yearn for it in the abode of bliss, and it presents what is ugly and warns against it.
Therefore, if a Muslim sees a beautiful sight or hears a good word, he should rejoice, be optimistic, and supplicate. If he hears or sees something displeasing, he should seek refuge in Allah Almighty.
