Is "Be optimistic and you will find good" a Prophetic saying (Hadith)?
There is no hadith with the aforementioned wording narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. However, it is narrated in Sahihayn and other collections, on the authority of Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "There is no tiyarah (evil omen), and the best of it is fa'l (good omen)." Fa'l was explained as a good word. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, liked good omens and disliked evil omens. The reason for his liking of good omens is that it is a good presumption of Allah Almighty, whereas pessimism is a bad presumption of Him. The believer is commanded to have a good presumption of Allah. Among the good omens is his love for beautiful names and seeking blessings in all his affairs. All of this stems from having a good presumption of Allah, due to his saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Allah Almighty says: 'I am as My servant thinks of Me.'"
