What is the Sharia ruling on dealing with a person who collects donations to establish a satellite channel to confront Christian misconceptions, then claims the loss of the funds, returns to request new donations, refuses institutional oversight or to provide guarantees, and considers the donated money a gift? And what should we do concerning him?

If there are no indications of the falsity of the claimant who alleges theft of funds, and he is known for justice and good conduct, then his claim is to be believed, and he is not required to guarantee these funds unless his negligence in preserving them is proven. He is not permitted to accuse others without evidence.

However, if strong indications emerge that prove the falsity of his claim, such as the sudden appearance of wealth without a clear reason, then his statement is not accepted. People should be warned about him, and his case should be referred to the competent authorities to recover these funds from him. It is preferable for fundraising to be supervised by a trustworthy Islamic body.
