Must the prayer be repeated if, after finishing it, the presence of nail polish residue on the nails or the uncovering of part of the neck due to a tear in the khimar is discovered?

Nail polish forms a layer on the nails that prevents water from reaching them, thereby impeding the completeness of purification. Nails are part of the hand, which must be washed during ablution, as Allah Almighty says: {O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows}.

Prayer without complete purification is invalid, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The prayer of one who has committed Hadath (minor ritual impurity) is not accepted until he performs ablution," and "Prayer is not accepted without purification." Ignorance is not an excuse for commanded acts.

However, the uncovering of the neck or part of it unknowingly does not invalidate the prayer, because the neck is not part of the severe 'awrah. If a small part of the 'awrah is uncovered unintentionally, the prayer is not invalidated.

The Malikis are of the opinion that the uncovering of the free woman's extremities during prayer does not invalidate it, but it is recommended for her to repeat it within the prescribed time.
