Is it permissible to pray while wearing nail polish (manicure), even if the purpose is to conceal a defect in the nails?

Prayer is invalid if nail polish (manicure) is present during ablution, as it prevents water from reaching the skin. However, if a woman performs ablution, then applies it and prays, her prayer is valid, but she must remove it for the next ablution. The presence of a defect in the nails does not justify neglecting to wash the limbs, and a Muslim must not be lenient regarding matters of purification and prayer.
