What is the duty of a committed expatriate towards his relatives who hang pictures in their home, and should he advise them or not?

According to the most preponderant opinions of scholars, it is not forbidden to reside in or enter a place containing forbidden images. However, what is obligatory is to denounce the reprehensible and advise its occupants. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the Kaaba, and it contained images, and the Companions entered churches and homes that contained images. As for fearing the resentment of relatives, this is not a barrier to offering advice. Rather, it is obligatory to do so gently and kindly, and if they do not accept, then you have fulfilled your duty, for Allah says: ﴿So remind them; you are only a reminder. You are not a controller over them.﴾ [Al-Ghashiyah: 21-22]. And advising is an obligation upon every Muslim.
