How can the Quranic texts and Hadiths that indicate the ease of a believer's soul departing be reconciled with the narrations that describe the severity of the pangs of death, such as the sayings of Amr ibn al-Aas and Umar ibn al-Khattab, and Aisha's Hadith: "Indeed, death has pangs"?

Remembering death is an important matter, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Increase your remembrance of the destroyer of pleasures," and "Those who remember death the most, and are most prepared for it before its advent, those are the intelligent ones." This remembrance should be accompanied by preparation for death through repentance and steadfastness in obedience, for Allah created death and life to test people as to who among them is best in deed. Al-Qurtubi reported from Ad-Daqqaq that whoever frequently remembers death will be honored with three things: hastening repentance, contentment of the heart, and diligence in worship. And whoever forgets it will be punished with delaying repentance, abandoning contentment with sufficiency, and laziness in worship.
