The obligation of performing congregational prayers (Jama'ah) and Friday prayers (Jumu'ah) is waived when there is fear for one's self, family, or wealth. It is also permissible to combine two prayers. A Muslim should increase their supplications during times of distress, including the supplication of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he feared a people: "O Allah, we place You in front of them, and we seek refuge in You from their evils." And his supplication when encountering the enemy: "O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Mover of the clouds, and Defeater of the confederates, defeat them and grant us victory over them." It is incumbent upon the Muslim to adhere to the remembrance of Allah Almighty, for it is one of the greatest means of removing distress.
