What is the way to worship God out of love for Him and His obedience, instead of love for Paradise and fear of Hell?

The statement that we worship Allah out of love, not out of fear of His Hellfire nor out of desire for His Paradise, is incorrect and contrary to Islamic law. Legitimate worship combines love and veneration, which generate hope and fear. Prophets and righteous people worshipped Allah with fear, hope, and love, as indicated by the texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah (definition), such as Allah’s saying: (Those whom they call upon seek a means of access to their Lord, [striving as to] which of them would be nearest, and they hope for His mercy and fear His punishment.) Al-Isra/ 57, and the saying of the Prophet (peace be upon him): (O Allah, our Lord, grant us in this world good, and in the Hereafter good, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.) Paradise includes the vision of Allah the Almighty, and Hellfire includes being veiled from Him and His wrath. Worshipping Allah with love alone, without fear and hope, is an innovation that may take its practitioner out of Islam. A servant must combine love, fear, and hope in their worship, just as the Prophets and the righteous did.
