What is the ruling on the wife asking her husband about his whereabouts or who was with him, after he swore an oath of triple divorce, knowing that his intention was to intimidate, and he swore it again to his mother?

If a husband makes his wife's triple divorce conditional on the occurrence of something, and the condition is met, a triple divorce takes place according to the majority of scholars, and this is the relied-upon opinion. The woman then becomes unlawful for him until she marries another husband. However, Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah holds that if the husband's intention was intimidation, he must offer expiation for breaking an oath. If his intention was divorce, a single divorce takes place. The husband cannot retract this conditional divorce according to the majority, whereas Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah permitted it.
