Does one who masturbates before sleeping after Fajr prayer in Ramadan break their fast, and does God become angry with them, and are they included in the Prophet’s (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saying, "Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and hope for reward, his previous sins will be forgiven"?

Deliberate masturbation is forbidden (haram (definition)), and its prohibition is more severe during the daylight hours of Ramadan (definition). If it leads to ejaculation, the fast is invalidated, and both making up the day (qada') and repentance (tawbah (definition)) become obligatory. However, if the discharge is pre-seminal fluid (madhy), it does not invalidate the fast, according to the more preponderant opinion. Sincere repentance (tawbah nasuh) erases sins. A Muslim should seek Allah's help and be mindful of Him, frequently engage in remembrance of Allah (dhikr) and recitation of the Quran, and hasten to marry if possible; otherwise, one should fast.
