Is there a prohibition against traveling by sea when it is rough, and what is the authenticity of the hadith that states, "Whoever travels by sea, his protection is withdrawn from him," and what is the meaning of "his protection is withdrawn from him"?

The hadith, "Whoever embarks on the sea after it has become turbulent, then the protection of Allah is disavowed from him," has two chains of narration. One of them is hasan (good), and it is the one narrated by Abu Imran al-Jawni from Zuhayr ibn Abdullah. There is a disagreement regarding its chain of narration, but Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar and Al-Albani graded it as hasan. "Turbulent" (irtijaj) means the sea's commotion and agitation. The meaning of "the protection of Allah is disavowed from him" is that whoever does so has exposed himself to destruction, and he has no covenant from Allah for preservation due to his excessive negligence. As for the other chain of narration, it is not authentic.
