Is it permissible for me to trim my beard for the purpose of getting a job as a teacher in a public school in Finland?

Seeking to appoint a teacher of Islamic studies for the primary stage is a great and important act for preserving the religion of the youth. It is not permissible to shave the beard or shorten it, due to the Prophet’s command (peace and blessings be upon him) to let it grow, and this is further emphasized for an Imam or Khatib (preacher) as they are role models. Letting the beard grow does not conflict with performing this task. However, if it does hinder it, then it is more appropriate for someone else to undertake this task while you remain in the field of da‘wah (preaching) and khutbah (delivering sermons).
