What is the ruling on attending "wa'dat" gatherings for righteous saints that involve offering food, riding horses, and firing gunpowder near their graves?

It is not permissible to organize or attend wa'dat (festive gatherings); officials must prevent them, as they are celebrations, and Allah has replaced all the festivals of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance) for Muslims with the two Eids: Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Furthermore, these wa'dat are held in places where awliya' (saints) are buried, and an Eid can be temporal or spatial. These wa'dat are a means to excessive veneration of saints, devotion at their graves, and the commission of polytheistic acts.
