Did Allah Almighty speak to His Messenger (peace be upon him) during the Mi'raj, and what are the evidences from the Sunnah and the sayings of the Salaf regarding that?

The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, was spoken to directly by Allah on the night of Isra and Mi'raj without an intermediary, as indicated by the Hadith of Isra and Mi'raj where he said: "Then Allah revealed to me what He revealed," and Allah's saying: "Among them are those to whom Allah spoke" includes Moses, Muhammad, and Adam. Some scholars held that the communication was through Gabriel, but this is refutable because the default is that there is no omission in speech, and the apparent meaning of the hadith is that the address from Allah to His Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was without an intermediary. This is confirmed by the Prophet's review with his Lord, and his elevation to a position no one else had reached, making it fitting for him to attain degrees of virtue that those below him achieved. Those who affirmed an intermediary believed that direct speech necessitates vision, but the reality is that the Prophet did not see his Lord, and the correct view is that speech does not necessitate vision; it is possible for it to occur from behind a veil, as happened with Moses, peace be upon him. This rank is the most complete and highest of ranks.
