Is it permissible for a father to spend equally on his sons and daughters regarding food, clothing, and general living expenses, or must the spending follow the same method as the distribution of inheritance: "A male shall have the share of two females"?

The preponderant view is that justice among children in gifts and endowments is obligatory, unless there is a special need that necessitates preferring one over others. As for expenditures, equality is not obligatory in them; rather, the father spends on each child according to their need, as Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen explained. Thus, justice in spending is achieved by giving each of them what they need.
