What is the meaning of the Hadith: "Then it will be indicated to them: 'Will you not come forth?'"

The hadith indicates that every nation will follow its deity on the Day of Resurrection, and everyone who worshipped other than Allah will fall into the Fire. Then, the Jews and Christians will be asked about their deity, and when they ask for water, they will be pointed towards the Fire, which will appear as a mirage, and it will be said to them, "Will you not go down to it?" This is an allusion to their entering it due to their thirst. So, they will be driven to it and fall into it.
