What is the ruling regarding a woman who rejoices at the onset of menstruation to escape prayer?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, considered a menstruating woman's abstention from prayer as a deficiency in her faith. The Prophet's love for prayer and its being the delight of his eyes indicates that a woman's joy at not praying due to menstruation is inappropriate, and it shows a lack of reverence for the importance of prayer. Righteous women used to greatly esteem prayer, among them Umm Habiba bint Jahsh, who suffered from prolonged bleeding (istihada) for seven years. She used to weep because she thought she could not pray.

In Sahih Muslim, Umm Habiba sought the Prophet's fatwa, and he said: "This is not menstruation; rather, it is a vein. So, perform ghusl and pray." Aisha used to say that Umm Habiba would perform ghusl until the redness of the blood stained the water. When Ibn Shihab narrated this to Abu Bakr ibn Abd al-Rahman, he said, "May Allah have mercy on Hind (Umm Habiba). Had she heard this fatwa, by Allah, she would have wept, for she used to not pray."
