What is the ruling on a menstruating woman's prayer, and should she perform ghusl every day, or should she not pray and make up the prayers later?

It is forbidden for a menstruating woman to pray, fast, circumambulate the Kaaba (Tawaf), touch the Qur'an (Mushaf), or have intercourse with her husband; based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Is it not that when she menstruates, she neither prays nor fasts?" She is not required to perform ghusl (ritual bath) until after her bleeding stops. She does not have to make up the prayers missed during menstruation, but she only has to make up the fasts, based on the saying of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): "We used to be commanded to make up the fasts and not commanded to make up the prayers."
