How can a 13-year-old girl help her parents who have recently started fighting after years of harmony, to the point where the mother left home and threatened divorce for reasons the daughter finds unconvincing?

Divorce is the most detested permissible act to Allah, and it is forbidden for the wife to request it without a legitimate religious excuse. Spouses should resolve their problems through dialogue and by seeking help from righteous and wise people, as Allah Almighty says: "And if you fear dissension between the two, send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people. If they both desire reconciliation, Allah will cause success between them." The mother must be advised against seeking divorce without a valid reason, because "any woman who asks her husband for divorce without a valid reason, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her." The father must also be advised to fear Allah, due to the dispersal of the family caused by divorce. This advice can be conveyed to them through a person whose word is heard, or in writing.
