What is the ruling on dealing with a mother who goes to sorcerers, takes zakat unlawfully, and brings items acquired from zakat into the home? And is it permissible to eat from this home?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to approach charlatans and soothsayers except to denounce them and expose their deviance. If it is highly probable that the incense is magic, one should not participate in it. If the mother does not accept advice, there is no sin upon the one who advises. It is not permissible for the mother to take zakat if she is wealthy, and the one who gave her zakat is not absolved of their obligation. Regarding the possessor of illicit wealth, if all of their wealth is illicit, it is not permissible to take from them or eat at their place. If most of it is illicit, scholars have differed on how to deal with them. It is best to avoid dealing with and eating with the possessor of illicit wealth. It is better for the spouses to distance themselves from this woman and live alone to be saved from consuming unlawful things. There is no objection for the husband to eat what she gives him if she does not mix it with anything unlawful, although it is better for him to avoid all of that.
