What is the ruling regarding a mother going to a charlatan (Dajjal) and fumigating the house with an unknown incense, and her taking Zakat and Sadaqat (charitable donations) despite not being in need, and is it permissible to eat from her food mixed with haram (unlawful) money, and what is the duty towards her?

It is not permissible to approach charlatans and soothsayers except to denounce their falsehood. It is also not permissible to participate with your mother in fumigating with incense suspected of being magic. If you advise her and she does not accept, then there is no sin upon you. It is not permissible for your mother to receive Zakat if she is wealthy. It is preferable to avoid dealing with someone who possesses ill-gotten wealth and eating at their place, especially if all of their wealth is unlawful, or most of it is unlawful, according to the detailed scholarly disagreement. It is better for you and your husband to distance yourselves from this woman to avoid what is unlawful.
