What is the ruling on eating cat meat, with evidence, may Allah protect you?

It is impermissible to eat a cat because it falls under the general prohibition of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, regarding every beast of prey with fangs, and it preys with its fangs. The majority of scholars have forbidden eating it, and the Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa prohibiting its consumption because it is among those with fangs.
