Is eating dog, donkey, and cat meat forbidden in Islam, and is there any evidence for its prohibition, and what is the difference between a donkey, a camel, a cat, and a rabbit?

The preponderant view is the prohibition of eating dogs, cats, and domesticated donkeys, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) prohibition of all carnivorous animals with fangs, and their inclusion in that, and his prohibition of eating cats. Eating domesticated donkeys is prohibited based on evidence, including the Messenger's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger forbid you from the flesh of domesticated donkeys, for it is an abomination from the work of Satan," and his command to overturn the pots in which they were cooked. As for camels and rabbits, it is permissible to eat them because Allah has permitted them, and a Muslim must submit to Allah's judgment and law.
