What is the ruling on a man removing excess facial hair with thread, whether from above the beard, between the eyebrows, or on the forehead?

A man is not permitted to take anything from his beard. As for hair outside the beard and eyebrows, such as hair growing on the forehead and between the eyebrows, scholars have differed regarding the ruling on its removal:

1. The first opinion: There is no harm in removing it. Proponents of this view believe that the forbidden namas (plucking) is specific to the eyebrows. This is what the Permanent Committee (for Islamic Research and Fatawa) has ruled. 2. The second opinion: It is forbidden to remove it by plucking. Proponents of this view believe that namas includes all facial hair. This is the choice of Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, who considered plucking hair from the beard and face to be part of the forbidden namas.

The preponderant opinion, and Allah knows best, is that namas is specific to removing eyebrow hair. Therefore, there is no harm for a man in removing facial hair that is outside the beard and eyebrows.
