What is the ruling on shortening prayers while traveling for tourism and recreation in Thailand, and what is the ruling on traveling to non-Muslim countries for tourism?

It is not permissible to travel to the lands of the disbelievers for tourism under the current circumstances, due to the great temptations involved and the absence of any recognized religious need or benefit. The presence of mosques and Muslims does not make it permissible. This journey is considered a journey of disobedience, and the travel concessions, such as wiping over the khuff for three days, shortening and combining prayers, and breaking the fast in Ramadan, are not permitted therein according to the three imams: Malik, Shafi'i, and Ahmad, unlike Abu Hanifa. This is because concessions were legislated to aid in achieving permissible objectives, and they cannot be an aid to something forbidden.
