Is it permissible to drop the blood money (Diyya) for the perpetrator in an incident that caused a forehead wound requiring stitches, knowing that the incident occurred due to forcefully pushing a door during play, and the perpetrator did not intend to cause harm? And is it valid to request forgiveness from the injured adult or from his guardian (the maternal uncle)?

If a boy commits a crime, he is not liable except financially, because the intentional act of a minor is considered an error. The 'Aqilah (male relatives on the father's side) bear what exceeds one-third of the blood money. However, what is less than one-third is not borne by the 'Aqilah, but rather comes from the offender's own wealth. As for a wound that healed with stitches, there is no fixed blood money for it; rather, it entails a discretionary compensation (Hukumat 'Adl) to be assessed by experts.
