What is my duty towards my son after I caused him to be hit, which led to a wound in his hand, and do I have to pay him blood money (Diyyah), and what is its amount?

The jurists have stipulated that damage resulting from striking a non-discerning minor necessitates compensation due to the presence of aggression. The assessment should be made after the wound has healed. If the wound does not result in any deficiency after healing, then there is no compensation. If compensation is obligatory, its assessment is referred to the Sharia (definition) judge. The guardian of the child must manage the money and dispose of it in the child's best interest until he reaches maturity and discretion. Caution must be exercised to avoid disciplining a child while angry.
