Is sacrificing on the day of birth with the intention of safety considered an ‘aqiqah for the child, or must the ‘aqiqah be on the seventh or fourteenth day? And if it is not valid, must an ‘aqiqah be performed for each child individually, or can an ‘aqiqah be performed for all of them together?

If the father intends the 'aqiqah on the day of birth, it is sufficient, although it is more preferable to slaughter it on the seventh day. However, if he does not intend the 'aqiqah at the time of slaughter, it is not sufficient, due to the condition of intention, as is the case with the udhiyah (sacrificial offering). Therefore, it is Sunnah for the father to perform the 'aqiqah for his children who have not reached puberty. As for those who have reached puberty, they should perform the 'aqiqah for themselves. Slaughtering one sheep for each newborn is sufficient, and slaughtering one sheep for more than one newborn is not sufficient.
