What is the ruling on a husband who does not speak to his household, does not spend on them, and travels without informing them, while his wife is forced to go out to attend to her needs and the needs of the family?

It is obligatory for both spouses to live together amicably and fulfill their Islamic rights. This includes the husband's financial support for his wife, and not forsaking his wife and children in speech for more than three days, as the permissible forsaking is in the marital bed. The husband sins if he fails to fulfill his duty towards his wife and children, for "it is sufficient sin for a person to withhold sustenance from those whose provision is in his possession." The wife is permitted to go out to fulfill her needs without her husband's permission in case of necessity, such as the absence of anyone to bring her food.
