What is the ruling on weeping over the deceased if it is accompanied by striking cheeks and tearing garments, especially by some women?

It is permissible to weep over the deceased without wailing (niyaha), slapping cheeks, tearing garments, or expressing discontent with Allah's decree. This is because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, wept at the death of his granddaughter's son. Similarly, he visited his mother's grave and wept, causing those around him to weep as well. However, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade slapping cheeks, tearing garments, uttering calls of the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyya), and wailing, and he warned of punishment for those who do so.
