The tailor should stipulate to his customers a specific period for collecting their garments. If they do not collect them after this period has expired, he may donate them as charity or sell them, take his fee, and donate the remainder on behalf of their owners. However, if he did not stipulate such a condition, it is not permissible for him to dispose of them except after despairing of their owners' appearance. In that case, he may donate them as charity or sell them and donate their price after taking his fee. He is also obliged to guarantee them to their owners if they become known.
